5.1 Question

Howdy !

there is a known issue about Norton indeed slowing or even causing blue-screen crash in Max, if i remember this issue is quite well documented on Max's webboard.
I also think it does not require that you disable NAV (which i recall is the app causing trouble), just to make some changes, if i can recall right it did have to do with Norton Protected Recylce Bin.

i had that problem with norton antivirus 2003, which is part of norton internet security 2003...

my workaround is using nis 2k3 with the older nav 2k2 which works just fine.... but i'd really like to know how to fix the problems with 2003

mh i don't get it... i seem to have found a solution ;)

with 3dsmax 5.1 already installed, I just installed the latest licensing drivers (c-dilla 3.27, which you can gethere (http://www.discreet.com/support/max/download/download.php3)), then NAV 2003 - and everything worked just fine

i guess you need 5.1 + the latest c-dilla version, because when i tried c-dilla 3.27 with max 5.0 it didn't work...

Just to add to this, I've had the problem with R5 and norton. I have no idea if it's been fixed with R5.1, as I fixed the problem using the prescibed workaround.
