View Full Version : Maya2008 texturing question
lVlartin 12-30-2007, 01:36 AM I am working on this pyramid which is comprised of a series of rectangular blocks stacked, one on top of the other. I want to texture each one seperately and I have a question regarding Maya's Uv Texture Editor. I selected one of the blocks and when I went into the texture editor, maya unwrapped it into a series of squares. This will create distortion when I apply the texture to it in Photoshop. Is there a way to create a uv map that is identicle to that off the actual geometry of the object?

I generally select my shell or all of the uvs I want mapped and press "unfold" under the main drop-down in the Texture Editor. Or you could automatic map it if you want... most people choose not to.
