I am currently using Cinema to model furniture that I then build. I have a very basic questions that has been bothering me for a while. A lot of the furnture that I build involves various dimensions of lumber. Because of this cube primitives are a great way to represent that lumber. I am having some trouble with snapping two cubes together. Maybe Cinema just can't do this, but it is also possible that I am just not going about things in the right way, I'm certainly open to suggestions. I would like to do the following:

1. Create two cubes and size them using the numeric editor.
2. Move the cubes together and have them snap together when they intersect. Much like two pieces of wood would be joined in the real world.

I have found ways to get the snapping to work if I convert the primitives to an editable mesh. However all of these methods seem to involve selecting a point, edge, or face and moving that until it snaps. When I do this I end up changing the shape and/or size of my objects. Is there some way to move the whole object but have it snap to the edge ( not the center) of another object. I am including a picture to better illustrate what I am trying to achieve. I think this is pretty straight forward, but Cinema just doesn't seem to want to let me do it.

You can use the grid snapping feature in the Attributes Manager , see screenshot :)

1. Once you make the object editable, select the 'Move Tool' and enable snap. You can enable the 'point' or 'edge' snap option.
2. Select the 'Use Object Axis Tool' and relocate the object's axis to one of it's corner. Because you have snap turned on, the axis will snap to the edge.
3. Now go back and select the 'Model Tool' and drag this object (with the relocated axis) to the edge of another object. This way the object you are dragging will snap exactly to the edge/corner point of another.

Since I'm still a beginner in cinema, I don't know why the 'Use Object Axis Tool' is not working for parametric objects but only for editable objects. Seems like a bummer to me.
