Hi,
Is there a way in expresso to make a random choice between different text strings then pass them to a text object.
May be with object list but I can't figure out. In order to make a text randomly change over time.

thanx

I'm still learning a lot about expresso myself, but seems if you made a few compare knodes with input rages like if input one is between A and B then us TEXT1, if input 1 is between B and C use TEXT2. Then for the randomness of it, this is where I"m not sure, I saw samir make an random noise deformer in expresso, however he made the random noise I would think you could input that into input 1.

And how did you manage it?

It was in order to make a matrix effect (letters falling down).

I did a group with all my separated letters verticaly aligned, I added a Paul everett expression that makes things appear gradually from one frame to another.
Then I put the group in a old fashionned emitter with light following the first letter.
I did the typo changes by hand but It is so speed that we can't really see them change : so I converted my type to polys to accelerate the render drasticaly !! :)

Quite long and boring way, I guess I should learn to use the new itteration nodes of expresso.

I will post the result soon, thanx.

I just uploaded an XGroup for that to plugincafe. Just look for "Random Character" in the XGroups category. It's actually a C.O.F.F.E.E. node - seemed like the easiest way to get the job done.

Thanx a lot Rick, nice node.

Unfortunately, Warner has almost declined the authorization I had to use the "code" motion graphix for this movie.
Too bad...

thanx for your help
