This is my 2007 Animation Showreel. I'm currently working as a lead CG Artist for AAG TV in Karachi, Pakistan. Although I consider myself a pretty decent generalist, I personally prefer to get my hands dirty with some good ol' fashioned character animation.

Tools used:-
1) 3D Studio Max
2) After Effects
3) Combustion
4) Photoshop

It doesn't really feel like an animation reel, it's definately more of a generalists reel at the moment. You could do with some longer shots that really show off your animation in there if that's what you're aiming for. I like the edit in places but be careful that it doesn't feel like you're using it to hide flaws. It was hard to see the characters moving in some shots because they were so short.

Thanx for the feedback Mike. I actually wanted my reel to be a generalist reel. Sure I enjoy character animation but I wanted to emphasise that my skillset also includes lighting/shading, texturing and compositing. Hence there was a less focus in strict chracter animation and more of a look at what I'm capable of as a general CG artist.

Hello Ahmad! You seem to be stronger in visual effects than is character animation.

Hello Ahnab. I agree with schakaib. You are stronger in visual effects than in character animation.

Your animations are lacking basic animation principles like overlap, follow through, sense of weight in the characters and you have too many symmetrical poses. If you want to improve your animation I would focus on those principles.

The rest of your reel was good but it seems that you are trying to show everything you have done. I suggest you take out a couple of works and leave more time for others.

Just trying to help. Best of luck!
