This is a pretty niche subject, but I hope someone can help:
I have access to a specialist Hand Motion Capture system at my university, called Shapehand by Measureand. I'm able to get data from the system, as a BVH file, and am looking how I can apply this directly to a biped in 3ds Max.
I've tried applying it to the biped in max, but I get error messages along the lines that individual bone names (for each finger) of the BVH data, do not match those of the biped's. So I opened the BVH file in a wordpad and renamed the bones to the Biped convention - Bip01 R Finger1, etc.
However, 3Ds max still continues to complain, stating that there is no mo-cap data for the rest of the bones, e.g. the head, spine, pelvis, etc. But I the Shapehand system only records data for one hand, and optionally the arm.
Any advice?
I could get access to MotionBuilder, if this is the only way to tackle this type of mo-cap data, but currently I have no idea how to use MotionBuilder!
Hope someone can help!
Thanks
