View Full Version : what light/shader do i have to use to bake a good base for texture painting? (3Dmax)
Piotrek255 12-23-2007, 11:19 PM Hi, what lights and shaders do you use for baking textures so that you have a good base for painting your textures in photoshop (especially baking the face texture) ??
PS: i dont have quickdirt, and the effect it does is what i'm after.

First What render do you use? and what program?
(In my case... I use 3dsMax)
Lighting: GI, Omni, Spot...
Shader: Dirt shader is best, it generates better shadow/dirt.... But you can also use simple shader if possible.

I usually use a skylight in 3ds max because I like the soft, vague shadows it makes.. good for texture painting I find.
