View Full Version : Script: Update Selections After Bevelling

Here’s a script for updating Polygon Selection Tags following Bevel, Extrude, Extrude Inner and Matrix Extrude operations. Simply run the script after extruding and all new polys will inherit the textures of their source polys.

Instructions are given at the top of the script.

I’ve tested this with as many absurd poly and texture configurations as possible and it seems to work reliably, but please let me know of any issues.

The script can be downloaded here:

Thanks to everyone for the feedback, I'm glad to hear that the script is being found useful and that there seem to be no problems so far.

I've updated the script to also work for the Matrix Extrude tool and have made some general optimisations.

Thanks, great time saver.

It would be nice to see all the guys who do these small helpful plugins, collaborate on making a bundled plugin with regular updates and marketing it for say $20

Version 1.4 of the script has been posted in the resources forum (see the link at the beginning of this thread).

There have been a toe-curling number of revisions in a short time but hopefully this is the final version.

If you have downloaded a previous version, please replace it with this latest one.

In earlier versions C4D would crash if, contrary to instructions, the script was run on a non-extruded object with a relatively low poly count.

The latest version addresses this issue as well as including further speed enhancements. Also, the script now works with unrestricted Texture Tags present in the object's tag list.
