I think this was someone doing cosplay of the ed character from cowboy bebop.
Anyways, this was one of my first atempts on doing realistic portraits paintings. I think it did come out really well as one of my first digital portraits since I wasn't expecting much, lol. The light was the real problem, but I think I managed that.

the smoke and hair are realistic. cosplay provides many inspiration,right?

Very nice work. How long have you been painting in photoshop? How did you come up with the idea for the background and how did you create the hair?

Thanks. I have been painting in photoshop for some 4 or 5 years. In the first year I did pretty much everything with a mouse. Not many good results at that time as you can guess. The background of this painting was done by playing arround with some personal texture brushs that I have created on photohop and the hair was also created by using another brush, although it took quite some time to get it right.
