View Full Version : Changing Background Object Proportions

When mapping a pic, 576x768, to a background object, the pic in the viewport is stretched, horizontally in this case. I could correct it by changing the length and offset in the material tag but manually changing the proportions does not seem right. It should open correctly.

I am missing something here. I checked Help and found no joy. The search function here is returning a blank white page. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Leonard

change your render resolution to 576x768 in the general render settings first, then the backround image should match up fine in the viewport.

Will it stay that way when he changes the render resolution to something else later?

if he changes the render resolution the backround image proportions will naturally change too suit. ie, the background will stretch to the new proportions (it's frontal projected).

if he wants his image to stay at it's correct proportions he must use a plane instead of a backround object

I had changed the resolution except chose a preset so x and y were reversed. Needed to go manual for vert. pic. Maybe that is the last duh for 2007.

Thanks for the help Strat.

Hi Ernest. Hope all is well up in "O".

if you want to change the resolution and don't mind some croping of your background you can make the plane a child of your camera, so you wouldn't have to worry if you are doing some animation or changing the resolution
