At Tom's Hardware (http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20030422/opteron-23.html) , in case anyone's interested.

A single 1.8 GHz Opteron seems to be roughly on par with a 2133 MHz Athlon XP and a 2.8 GHz Pentium4.

Of course, this wouldn't be too good a deal at the moment, because these CPUs are targeted at the server market and thus carry a higher price tag, but the benchmarks could be interesting as a performance indication for the Athlon64 that is to be released later this year.

And if you think those are good numbers, imagine what will happen if C4D is recompiled as a true 64 bit app running under 64 bit Windows. Not just doubling register width, but also doubling the number of registers, both integer and floating point.
