Why bad memories? Im playing WW2Online all day and night long :P

To your model: Not bad, seen from the technical side. But this isnt a german soldier, it could be anyone. First i'd remove the glasses on his helmet, they dont fit, or is he a pilot? Then, look at some reference images and give him all these crosses and badges german soldiers had. Dont just texture them ;). And also i think that the whole uniform is a litte baggy, in my opinion it would have to be much tighter around his body with more sharp edges.

But: Go on, you have been doing great allready ;)

the helmet goes out all wrong... :S definatly go find some refrence images... and not amie cuase they don't even got it near right.

This Guy made with Wings might help with the head and coat (http://www.wings3d.com/gallery/soldier.php) BUt its not a substitute for the rest of the uniform.

Yeah thats a very good model. Could you post some wires of the soldier with and without uniform? I'm not an expert in WW2 but is it an uniform from the African battles?
The model looks texture ready to me....

oh, I am crying!
you know guys, modeling is a long-lasting job, because of it is a basic part of 3d cg producing. so it needs be modified, modified, and modified, untill it fits all of the producing departments' requirements.

thanks disher and Diablo?/font>

Hey this is a very well made model, good job:thumbsup: , the only crit i have is that in the face wire there seems to be alot of lines that look like they dont need to be there, meaning that theres alot of unnecessary edjes especially in the upper mid area of the face, anyways this doesnt really mather i guess

The hat looks a little small for the German military, but it depends whether you are going for the rigid peaked or softer cap- what are you basing it on? Either way I am not sure it is wide enough.

In terms of trousers a lot of army Officers wore knee length boots- baggy trousers tended to be seen on paratroopers and some tank commanders or on desert uniforms (in which case the footwear might be a little different)- be interesting to see your source photos. Of course they might be weather overtrousers as worn in the Battle of the Bulge etc but soldiers tended to tuck their tunics inside those.

The navy certainly wore trousers like that, although their jackets were different (most WW2 naval pattern German Officer uniform jackets are double breasted). The army Officers' tunics tended to have more pointed collars and most Werhmacht Officers in photos are seen wearing a cravat or collar underneath the tunic. That tunic shape is more reminiscent of those worn by NCOs.

As I said though be interesting to see the source image as you see all sorts of mix and match garments on Officers and ORs, particularly towards the end of the war. The face is very nice.

Witchy : thanks so much for your clear comments. it helps a lot.

however, my situation is that I make a big mistake. I haven't thought it over before I began with the project. this is a ****ing bad operation for a project. foolish myself.
now I could feel nothing but regretting for my fool deal.

ps.: my tears could create another Pacific Ocean!

well, here is the referrence pics. if you see them, you must agree with my opinion.
thanks guys.

You don't see many pictures of Officers in dress trousers like that, I assume it's a reconstructed uniform- it certainly is rather unique. The Wermacht in particular had a fondness for boots and breeches. The first tunic is other ranks I believe- there are some subtle differences with the Officers' version in collars, pockets and cut.

If you are looking for good basic colour plate references I would recommend the Men At Arms series of books- they do some decent WW2 references and are not too expensive. There are also numerous books endlessly cataloguing WW2 German uniforms such as German Headgear in World War II :Photographic Study of German Hats and Helmets by Moran and Maguire. There are loads of good references for WW2. Sites like ancientidols have references too;

http://www.ancientidols.com/dafjacke.jpg

You could also have a look at reenactment sites-there are people that collect old uniforms that can be a valuable resource for modellers. Even searching Ebay can come up with some decent stuff.

I don't think you should feel depressed about the model btw, there are lots of places to take it with some other references and it has a nice basic structure.
