View Full Version : Simple question about spawning particles with orientation

Good day.

I'm currently making a test where I'm spawning instanced geometry on a sphere. The problem is to align the geometry according to the normals of the parent object. Either that or better, just to point away from the center of the parent object.

Maybe "Speed by Surface" is what your looking for..? (Where the surface is your sphere where you are emitting from)
In the parameters you can adjust the direction of the emitting particles; "Surface Normals", "Out of Surface", "Parallel to Surface".

right, speed by surface set to "surface normals" followed by rotation set to "speed space follow"...

extra tip: if u want particles to stick to a surface (like spikes) drag an age-test set to 0 frames into it and pipe that into a position object set to lock on emitter...
