View Full Version : Wave Surfing On the top of the Mount Everest

I created an impossible thing in the real world, wave surfing on top of Mount Everest. A car powered with an nvidia engine is driving through waves of 5 meters, 300km/h winds and in each splash of the waves a part of the splash becomes ice crystals and the foam turns in snow flakes.
100% full CG, rendered one-pass.
This is the second version, check the original...

hi prudence, nice to read you again and thank you so much for your a+, this image was made using only Maya, this image like the original-click to see the first post- (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=229&t=575410) are full 3d rendered one pass with no post (no photoshop or something like that)
the waves are polygons, there are software particles and hardware particles in the render, I used some polygons to get the ice crystal look in the splash -check it in the first posted image with other values on the motion blur setting- (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=229&t=575410)the sky was made with volumetric shaders and one light generating coustics+final gather for the sun, the mountains are polygons shaded using maya tools, the deep of field are from the camera settings + camera motion blur, the image was rendered using obviously the best, obviously mentalray :) with all the values of quality at the top, in the greenpeace version (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=229&t=575411) the eagle and the orca are 3d too, the nvidia engine (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=229&t=575414) of the car was made in maya too, I posted different versions based on the main concept but my favorite is this one (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=229&t=575412) (headache to create it).
