View Full Version : First 3dsMax model ever: Elf Female
Red_Riot 04-22-2003, 04:15 AM going for a little different 'elf' look, comments/sugestions PLEASE! this is my first work ever in 3dsMax. I'm still trying to learn how to rig with IK stuff too, long chapter in the book!
(Note, this is for a 3d engine so it's very low poly count)

here's a new face I did, both are usable:
(please forgive the default lighting, I skipped the lighting chapter for after I get done with rigging)

whats the poly count. it seems kinda hi by the way it looks.
the hair specially looks really high. most low poly characters rarely have eye balls. Most are left for the texture to care of that.
not a bad start though for your first model.

it's 1700 w/out any cropping yet. Count does not include the eyeballs which are more than the model alone, and were just in for reference.
I'll be scaling it down to the 900 region hopefully.
Here's the hair you mentioned, is there a better way to do it? I'm new at this.
