I was wondering how i triangulate my character. Right now, most of the polygons are 4 sided. I am wondering if there is a modifier or something to change them all to triangles.

Also, if anyone is pretty good at low polygon modeling, and has 5 or 10 minutes i would like them to go over my model and see what they think. I use 3d studio max.

Thanks

Ashe

Even 4 sided poly's are made of two triangles....

Go to edge level and make a selection to see what I mean.
Also I think you can check 'edges only' or something in the object properties settings.

If you really, really are hell bent on premanently triangulating your model, then export it as a .3ds file, and then import it back.

If you need help with your model, please post it in the WIP section, or, in the game art section. Many people can help you there. This forum is for specific max related stuff.

Best of luck!

He is right...You can also select all edges and press the 'visible' button under:
editable mesh->edge mode->surface properties.

This will make all the edges visible too.

if you're working in Max5 try adding a HSDS mod and collapse all... done..
Works on all type of objects...

In the Modifier List the is a modifier called "Turn to Poly" select this, then check the "Limit Polygon Size" check box. Now change the "Max Size" scroller from 4 to 3. Presto a triangulated model that is still modifable as both quads and tris.
