I wonder if the second version will also include tickets for the third movie
This time I'm holding out and will ONLY buy the second version.

I will buy both, they had different stuff on them with FOTR.
What can I say, I'm a sad LOTR collector :p

I would say I'd only buy the second version, but who is going to wait a few months when the first version comes out?;) Damn you marketing!;)

I'll buy both too. I'm surprised there's no mention in their "hypothetical" account of what will be on the extended DVD about the Scene of Smeagol and his friend on a boat. That would seem like a logical addition unless they carry it over to the ROTK.

Heh, I guess i'm taking the opposite approach as you all...
I'm buying all of the theatrical version DVD's as they are released, and waiting until the final box-set containing all 3 Extended Editions eventually comes out.

Why get screwed into marketing? Just wait and buy the extended and rent the first release when it comes out.

(In Australia at least) $8/9 bucks to rent, $30 bucks to buy the standard addition usually, might as well just buy it you're going to see it more than once.

heres a unique idea
download the theatrical (dvd quality of course) its been available since it was in theaters
and then buy the exstened edition did it with #1 doing it with #2 course i saw both in theaters 3 or 4 times each and just downloaded them cause i couldn't afford to go anymore

Think about it this way.... most of the money will be going towards making ROTK look even better then the first 2.......I think......I could be wrong here

$8/9 bucks holy moly man thats a bit step.
I pay exactly $4.95 sometimes even $4....wow amazing. The A.C.T is obviously cheaper, but not with fuel....you bastards. ;)

eh maybe its just really cheap here but... jeez $4 bucks for a rental? maybe im misunderstanding... it usually costs 50 cents to a dollar for a new rental here... i think im going with the "keep screener dvd until special edition comes out method" (since ive had that for about 3 months :)
