Is there a way to add folders into the object library? I would like to keep a few things there, but dont want to clutter it up. I tried to add folders but they dont show up.

lol just as i feared...
i suppose im just too lazy to move stuff in and out, although i had hoped it was a user error on my part.

Well, I'm glad I searched before I posted the same message, verbatim. Pretty disappointed to see that this has been requested for years and isn't there yet (original thread is almost 2 years old) -- Do not enough people use the object library or something? Mine is chock full of goodness, especially with the SteadyCam and lighting rigs that have been popping up en masse lately.

Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions.... I tried a folder and it didn't work.... so I presume there's still no way to add folders or otherwise organize your object library? Can you take out the maxon added stuff and it still work? Can you add in another folder at the parent level (that didn't seem to work, either) or in one of the other groups?

I have a few "everyday" items in the objects folder and the rest I add simply via finder or Add Object/Material etc. I had the intention to use the Browser -but- the registers are nor saved as visable directly in the Browser (Still have to serach them in Finder) nor do they have a real re-scan/update. I'd say I'd love a folder structure in ObjectsFolder -and- a slightly better Browser.

Cheers

Hi,

DPIT Nature Spirit has the Nature Library, which allows folders and all that stuff to manage your objects easily. It also has a preview option (when you add an object it will automatically render the current scene).

I had hoped at one time to replace a lot of my use for the browser with the object library, but found myself wiht an unmanageable list. i have a few items in there tha tI use frequently. other then that I simply store the same types of files in a folder and make a catalog in the browser.

Interesting idea for using your nature library, I never actually thought of it outside of its main use. i think my license expired a few days ago on this mac, but it shoudl be good for a ffew more days on the PC. Too bad I never found much time to work on contest entry. should post my test images though.
