View Full Version : Rendering a texture without lighting?
I am trying to render a surface that is unaffected by light. I have a texture applied that I don't want altered. I can't seem to make it work. Incandesence will blow out the colors and diffusion will cause a smooth gradiation of surface shading accross it. Is there a maya shader that allows this? Or certain settings I'm missing? Thanks!

Incandescence will not "blow out" your colors if the main "color" attribute at the top is set to black - they only look blown out because you are adding together the incandescence with the surface color shading. Once the color is black (and there's no specularity or reflectivity), incandescence will render with exactly the RGB color from the original map.

Thanks for your help. I figured it out. Basically, I turned everything off on a lambert shader, then applied my color map and turned ambient color all the way up. Worked great!
Thanks again!
