Hahaha! This is so weird! Just posted yesterday in the other thread (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=573556&goto=newpost) about how weird it might look if Ratatouille and No Country For Old Men ended up vying for the best film oscars. Oscars this is not, however, it still made it to a list populated by other "traditional" entries!

I liked Rat, but it was a bit too "soft" in my opinion. Wouldn't be my pick for top film. Not that I have an alternative mind you.
The list loses all credibility when one reads 'Knocked Up', halfway down. It's an insult to all of the other films in the list, IMO.

I dont know, underneith the vulgarity that was knocked up i thought it was a strong story that had some real heart.
that and I thought it was funny as hell. but It felt like more than just a gross out comedy.
Love it or hate it, it's just not in the same league.

^^Agreed, I was in the hate it crowd, my wife loved it however. Either way we both agree that it's an insult to the other films in that list.

It's a top ten list of films for the year. I haven't seen Ratatouille not in a top ten list media wise yet. Do I think it is a top ten film of the year? Absolutely.
As far as Knocked Up is concerned, I personally didn't find it nearly as funny as 40 year old virgin or Superbad. Shrug. However, it is sitting at 90% critically on RottenTomatoes so that's pretty impressive.
