Yeah, definitely. I know it's early, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was a best picture nominee. Stanton and the Pixar team have really done a stellar job. Can't wait 'till June.
The only thing that has bugged me is in the hopping lamp part. WallE looks like he should be running over the X while he's changing Luxo's light bulb. There's something up with the perspective, like either the lamp or WallE are on above the other. Has anyone else noticed this?

Myspace is blocked at work, is there an alternative?
EDIT: some wonderful person put it on our server! Man there are some sweet little character moments in that trailer, but I seem to remember there was less of his little noises in the previous cockroach squashing trailer, guess I'll get used to them though. Fire extinguishers are FUNNY!
Looks epic.

I wonder, is this going to be Pixar's first photo-real animated feature? Looks mighty impressive, visually, thus far.

It's really looking a lot differnet than the other Pixar flicks. I really love this trailer, they just really know how to create a likeable character.

Appears to be a new style...but probably the same result as usual..which would be amazing! I don't know how they do it, they just don't seem to ever make any mistakes

That looks very promising.
What other big franchise movies are coming out about the same time to compete with that?

I've never been as excited for a movie to come out as this one, it looks great. The fact that there is very little dialogue makes me want to see it more, just because so few movies do it (Chaplin and Castaway are the only ones that come to mind), and I expect Pixar to do it well. Sparse dialogue should also really help convey the story to everyone because there isn't as much need to translate to other languages. That should help overseas sales, not that Pixar needs any help.

It's plain beautiful. I love the dark, industrial and dusty route Pixar is taking on this one.

The visual is great, but i'm not too fan about the main character, i don't know where you find the cute thing here.
But sure, it will be very interesting

I know better than to doubt Pixar. I just hope the no dialogue thing doesn't get boring. I'm sure it's interesting at first. But a whole movie of it? I hope it doesn't seem like a 90 minute Pixar demo reel.
Those are just natural doubts. But deep inside I know they will pull it off.

I'm rather sure the spaceship of the trailer is going to bring the robot to a planet where people talk. Probably we'll see Wall-E's planet only in the first part of the movie. Notice how there was no trace of the spaceship in the first trailer, they're giving us something more now without spoiling the plot.

So does anybody else think the garbage planet he is on is actually Earth in the future? We trash it, make it a garbage planet and move on. Guess I thought maybe, seeing the sapce ship bust through all the leftover satellites at the end.

this is the premise of the movie:
nothing really spoilery:
from jimhillmedia
"WALL E" starts out on Earth in the year 2700. Which -- due to the horrible way that humans have treated this planet -- is now just one massive trash heap floating in space.
Earth in fact has become so toxic that -- centuries before our story actually gets underway -- mankind has abandoned the planet. We're now all living aboard the Axiom, this massive spaceship that circles high overhead. Waiting for the day that the planet once again becomes inhabitable.
But the only problem is that mankind hired this enormous, inept corporation -- Buynlarge -- to supervise the clean-up effort. And that company -- in turn -- sent hundreds of thousands of robots down to the planet's surface to pick up all of the trash.
But Buynlarge's Waste Allocation Load Lifters -- Earth Class units really weren't up to the task. And so -- over the centuries -- these robots slowly began breaking down. Until now (as the film's story finally, officially gets underway) there's only one WALL E left running on the entire planet.

Looks like Johnn-E Five (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091949/) jr.
With the talents of Lassetter, Stanton, and Bird, I expect nothing but a well-told story-driven movie. The CG gets better as technology advances, but its the storytelling that separates Pixar from the rest.

I didn't think Ratatouille was a comedy so that seems like a strange comparison to make  There are plenty of films made by other studios that are funnier, more dramatic, have better characters than their previous work but it's a completely different film and so you can't really compare how funny it is based on a previous film that wasn't a comedy.

PIXAR has just gone up a few notches in my books! I totally love Robot movies - Batteries Not Included, Transformers, Saturn3, Robocop 1&2 and even both Short Circuit movies. They usually get the argument "People cannot relate to robots" but thats just rubbish as they make some of the most awesome characters put to screen. I really cant wait for this one now...2008 is going to be a great year for movies!:bounce:

I just hope the no dialogue thing doesn't get boring. I'm sure it's interesting at first. But a whole movie of it?
The other day I saw an interview with Lasseter who talked about the Pixar shorts collection and he said all of them but one have no dialogue and I realized he was right. I hadn't even thought about it.
To me it's a welcome relief from the talkies that animation films have become with their jabbering side characters and dialogue driven gags.

Yes! This looks really good. Last two Pixar movies just didn't do it for me. I couldn't even watch Cars all the way through. And while Ratatouille was probably the most beautiful film I've ever seen I thought the story and character were rather uncompelling. To me, their movies like the Incredibles and Monsters Inc are where the really shine.

...To me, their movies like the Incredibles and Monsters Inc are where the really shine.
All the Pixar movies have lots to offer but, for me, it's definitely The Incredibles that stands as my favorite Pixar film. It's also one of my top favorite "superhero films" of all time. It's probably the only superhero film that I didn't find some fault with. Partly because I didn't approach the film with any preconceived notions of how the characters should be portrayed.
Also, I just loved everything about it; the characters, story, animation, action sequences, musical score, and how the vile villian met his fitting demise. I've enjoyed all the Pixar outings to one degree or another, but, The Incredibles fires on all cylinders for me. (Loved the Toy Story films as well and really hope they don't ruin the franchise with the expected third film.)

Ehem, have you ever heard of SILENT MOVIES and "Age of the Silver Screen"?
Or such a classic magic silent movies made in the sound era like:
Man With a Movie Camera (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_With_a_Movie_Camera), Dziga Vertov (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dziga_Vertov), 1929
Modern Times (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Times_%28film%29), Charlie Chaplin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Chaplin), 1936
or have you seen the movie without dialog like:
Quest for Fire (film) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quest_for_Fire_%28film%29), 1981
It's done before, I would be great guts if they've done it!
My favourite Pixar movie is also Incredibles. Specially how they gave the super powers to the characters, which makes so much sense. Briliant!

I dont actually mind the lack of dialogue as I love the Final Fantasy games pefore #10. I suppose they were the Silent Movies of computer games and gives them a classic touch.
