Hey all-

Im a 4th year student getting ready to graduate with a BFA degree with an emphasis in computer animation. Pretty soon here im gonna want a job other than part time pharmacy tech. I really really wanna do something with animation, but do not want to be part of an assembly line if you know what I mean. Anyone out there got tips on getting that first job and getting ones foot in the door?

Any and all replies will be grately appreciated

Thanks to all who reply:beer:

It may be easier than you think to get that first job because you are fresh out of school and willing to work extra hard for whatever money is offered to you. However if you ar enot interested in assembly line productiont hen stay away from film and TV series animation production.. they for th emost part require that you be skilled in one area. If you prefer variety then broadcast design, commericals and music videos will probably suit you better.

In either case your portfolio is what will get you hired in the end so try to tailoor it to your interests and send it to the appropriate types of companies.
