Title: -- The penthouse-- Remastered
Name: Benjamin Brosdau
Country: Germany
Software: 3ds max, Maxwell Render, Photoshop

One of my older images reworked with a new furniture style and accessories. On the contrary to the very bright and pompous initial design, I here went for a much calmer and cleaner style.
Modeled in 3ds max8 and rendered in Maxwell Render 1.6. Touched up in Photoshop CS3.

Regards,

Benjamin

Man!!! Impressive....you posted such high quality work the last weeks, I can't believe it...
You must run in Brute-Force-Mode...
I've seen a lot interiors which made it to the choice gallery with lower quality...if this won't make it, i don't know which one will in future...

hope to see more

Nice work but somehow it lacks the quality like your recent renders..(mayb bcoz its ur old work) ;)
though i have some crits like whats the black spots on the ceiling,if its spotlight then why it's off,and from where the room is illuminated as there is night outside and i cannot see any physical lights there?
Good calm look and comfortable design..hope to see more from you!

I will just refer you to my comment on the last image you posted.
This, like pretty much everything you've shown here and on the Maxwell forum, is utterly amazing. It'd be unfair to single out any particular element, but I'd say this has to be the best CG leather I've seen. How many layers?
Purerender really is the Ferrari of interior rendering!

PS: Did you make your rug displacement map from an image on CGtextures? It looks like a beefed up version of a rug texture they have with which I've had some success in the past.
PS2: Could you show us one or two cropped full-res close-ups? It seems a shame to look at such a small image given the amount of details you got in there.

The only thing I can give u critique on is the wood on the kitchen, looks a bit strange and too reflective, if u know what i mean ,it should have a bit more bluriness IMO, other than that , good work!

nice work ,but your other kitchen render is very good than this.I think your wood is too reflect .I think lighting is not like real, where is your light?

Jo Bro, well Im not suprised that you post an interior image again:D well I guess as you are not suprised when I post silent hill images:D
But anyway, I like this calmer version better thatn the luxury version. From the render quality its the same, so i guess the image just depends on a personal opinion and not on technical facts;)
So i like it:D Next a kitchen image please:D

Very nice render. Good lighting. I especially like how the light reflects off of the furniture. One thing that distracted me - the fireplace stone texture is unrealistic.

thanks all.
@koolnits: the mainlights are hidden behind geometry or are not visible from this POV. There is also a very simple answer for the spotlights: I simply forgot to turn them on.:)
@Bertrandb: Thank you very much for your kind words Bertrand. The leather is a rather simple 2 BDSF surface its all about the proper maps but I actually do not regard it as that great, it just suited the scene.
The DP map is indeed from cgtextures I think, well spotted. It works satisfying.

@souledge3:I dont know which kitchen rendering exactly you are referring to, I did quite a lot of those. :) About the wood: This is a highgloss zebrano wood and it looks really like that in reality. It can be polished to an almost mirrorshine. See above for your questions about the light.

@Destrega: Bro, you must have missed my previews posts a few days ago then. Some kitchens and other stuff. :)

@calico1:Yes, the fireplace texture is bad, I forgot to change it prior to rendering. Maybe I correct it in photoshop later.
