I recently found this pic of my carnivorous plant while cleaning up my desktop and decided to finish it.

But I can't get a good idea on what to use as a good, simple, cartoony background. The sphere is the eye target wich is to be replaced by some kind of buzzing insect (BTW if anyone knows how to restrict eye rotation, please).

try Xresso to restrict the eye rotation. maybe use a range mapper or something.

a good back drop could be one or two things. a desert. so its the only green or just you usual garden with the white picket fence and some grass and flowers.

yep use rengemapper on local coordinates not clobal. as for background for an animation or simpy a still, for a still I would go for a simply illustrative round gradient light to dark other wise a simple sky slightly darker up top lighter down low but subtle wih a cloud or two. lookin cool
