CGTalk - Rigging a snake

I was wondering if there was a tutorial or if someone could give me some insite into the best method for rigging a snake. I am in Lightwave but any information would be helpful.

I don't know lightwave but in maya I use IK splines with enough bones to make smooth curve deformations.
