View Full Version : 3dsMax Skinning Issue

I just got ahold of the fabulous Collada Import and have been having a field day with it. I import a poser character and it is ready to go. So problem is this: the characters have no twist bones in the arms or legs. And from the looks of it (if I am understanding things correctly) the envelopes are baked into the skin modifier. I have translated the skinning from the dummy helpers to the Biped skeleton without trouble. But I cannot seem to get the twist bones to affect the mesh at all. I added them to the skin modifier and deleted the arm and leg bones from the modifier and still nothing. I try adjusting the envelopes and nothing happens. I even tried to paint weights on those verts but, again, nothing happens. Is there something I am missing? I am not too familiar with how the skin modifier works as I have been previously using Bones pro before I found this cross app conversion format.
