Ok, as I am stupid I come equipt with stipid questions.

This is what it say's at gnomon about the new titles coming

So what's new... masters have shipped and a mid-May release date is confirmed. Title descriptions and specifics will be posted in a couple weeks (have to keep the suspense going for a little while). For now, here is a little more information:

Darrin Krumweide has produced two Texturing titles.
Andrew Orloff has produced two Dynamics titles
Jeremy Engleman has produced two Rendering titles
John Brown has produced two Sculpture titles

I have a pretty good idea as to what Darrin Krumweide, Andrew Orloff, and Jeremy Engleman's DVD's will be like, but John Brown's two Sculpture titles have me thinking a little.

If you look at his Gallery at Gnomon (http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/gallery/brown/brown.html), or better yet AS I LOOKED at his gallery. I have to wonder if we are talking about clay sculpturing here? I know, I know, and no I'm not stoned. I had to look twice, and I still can't actually tell. We are talking about Maya here.

So take the poll, and add comments in the thread.

I sure hope so. Kudos to gnomon if its indeed clay sculpting , thats one area you dont find training easily.

I don't think it matters witch one it is. I'm going to get John Browns set either way. They look way cool no matter what they are.:buttrock:

Heya...

thought that the annoucement of these types would throw some people off.. :)

Aside from the Gnomon Workshop, however, many of you may be aware that the Gnomon School's curriculum is split between both digital and analog artist development.

So yes, John's titles focus on sculpture... with clay. And they are very cool.

Attached is the sculpture I did when I took John's class at Gnomon... while some people may scoff at traditional skills (can't tell if thats what the previous post is doing), my digital abilities are directly linked to my traditional ones.

Alvarez came into the chat room a while ago, and asked what we all thought about a more analog form of art instruction on the DVD's. Looks like this will be an awesome DVD to own =)

Will there be any kind of drawing DVD's? Things like drawing perspective? front/side view, etc etc... just curious =)

OMG! Cant wait for that dvd!

Alex would it be possible to write what the DVD covers here? Is he using water based clay or super sculpey type?

i am so excited about this dvd :buttrock:

Alex that is a wicked sculpture man. Good job. Now I am totally Hyped up about that Sculpting set.

Do you plan to start a non Maya Specific category for things such as this at the workshop? For instance: Feng Zhu to do some Design DVD's. All the way from basic Character Design DVD's to Some Concept Design. I for one would be interested in some of the more traditional stuff. :applause:
It looks like your broadening the scope of what your offering at Gnomon-Workshop. Could something like this be a possibility in the future?:buttrock:
