View Full Version : changing a square into a circle
Ashe Tie'skar 04-21-2003, 01:26 AM Hi
I was curious if there is a way to get like 10 randomly placed vertices and select them, then put a modifier or something to make them automatically go into a circle shape.
Thanks,
Ashe

Yup, it's called a morph target.
Used the morpher modifier.
It's animatable, but only works on polys and meshs.
There are other ways. Have a look at the "compound objects" section of the manual.

a morph modifier also works on splines

Works on Editable Splines, too!
Try this:
-Create a NGon, set corners to 4 to get a square.
-Copy the NGon, set to Circular to get a circle.
-Collapse the second NGon (the circle) to ESpline
-Add a Morpher to the first NGon
-Get the second NGon into the first channel
-Animate the first channel's value from 0 to 100 to get the spline from square to circle.

Sounds like a job for Spherify. Not for splines, but the other thing.

Well, I feel like a moron.
I was'nt paying attention when I wrote that. What I meant to say, was that I've never tried it on a spline, not that you can't do it. Good to know that you can though.
