Error404 04-20-2003, 07:49 PM Well, I have been beating around the bush with this model, and I think I finaly found the best setup/angle/lighting to consider it final.

This will be for my portfolio, and I have looked my self blind over this model, so I am considering it finished
This is the later HotRod version BTW.

Good stuff Error404.
I have to get really picky to find fault with this model. Two minor things do catch my eye. First, the tread on the front tires looks a little too compacted. I think the scale looks great on the rear tire but the front could use less tread. Second, it might look better if you put a radiator behind the grill. I can see the floor through the grill and this breaks the illusion a bit. This is being really picky. I think you did an excellent job.

I like that kinds of cars....being picky, I'd suggest some more details in the interior (leather texture for example) in addition to what mikewebb said above. Good stuff:thumbsup:

hm... can this be moved to WIP section? I have had a few other comments on the interior and tire tread from some other forums... and I'm going to do something about it, darn it! :D
Thanks for getting picky guys, thats what I'm looking for!
hm... it appears that the radiator got left out for some reason, there is a full engine, and there WAS a full radiator in there, I'll have to check and see if it wasn't "hidden" during the render.
If this doesn't get moved, I'll start a new thread in the WIP section. Sorry about that
Thanks again guys :)

i would agree
radiator
(or even a sqare with a readiator image map on it would probibly work)
leather texture
that would totaly help especialy if the leather texture were a little broken in like the eats had been useda few times
i think that would also help a lot
overall thoguh great job on the model

also the ground is wet however the tires are not... it shouldn't be too hard to wetten them up a bit.

Bellissimo Error404,
Very Nice. I believe someone has also made one (in realtiy) with a Ferrari engine in a 32 Ford. I'd have to check the issue of Forza Magazine I saw it in. Of course it was red.

For some reason the seat doesn't really look real...
Other than that,

Thanks for moving this thread! (who ever you are  )
I'm working on the next render right now. I'm juggeling my 3D Max time between several projects right now. "Bucks Exhaust" (in the WIP section), my portfolio (which includes several cars), and a Nascar Craftsman truck, that I will use mainly as a texturing exercise to get my texturing skills some what better. If it turns out good, I'll post it, and if it turns out great, I'll use it for my portfolio.
Any way, I made the ground plane texture smaller, adjusted the lighting a tad, put different tread on the front wheels, attempted to make the tires look wet, changed the seat material, and a few other very minor things.
I'll post up when it's his turn to render. I'm doing a juggeling act here! :scream: hehe!
