Well, I thought I would share with you a recent piece of work that I completed.
I wasn't going to post this one here, but there were lots of constraints that I had to deal with, so i thought some might like to see it..
Basically the brief was to take the still image and create a snow scene from it. However, the brief stated that realism was the aim, yet the snow particles had to be seen to settle on the ground and house...go figure... so that limited my matte painting to going from a full snow scene, to more of a frosty scene, or lightly snowy scene as though it has only bee snowing for a minute. Also, the massive time constraints on this meant that the simulation could not have as high a particle rate as i would have liked, or it just wouldn't render in time...
So everything was completed very quickly, but i am still quite happy with the result, especially considering the pressure.

And here is a link to the final shot (10 seconds). Sorry for the low quality, but youtube is the only option i have to upload this right now...

Work carried out in Photoshop (matte painting), XSI (3D geometry and particle simulation), and Combustion (compositing).
Like to hear your thoughts. All the best.
