Toby.

Hmm i'm not sure, but ase is an old game format that store mesh frame by frame.

IS there any known modelling program that still supports this format? The only option may be to export the model ina common format like OBJ or DXF and then use the other program to covnert to ASE.

You can use the ActorX plugin, from Unreal Tournament. It has a simple ASE export option now. But its a new feature and may still have some bugs.

Load the plugin, and then in your command line type axmesh. That will bring up a window where you can export your .ase

Thing is, ASE is great for simple data management.

The onyl problem with actor X, despite not having the code for the plugin is the fact that it doesn't exporter the same amount of data and in the same way as Max does, therefore with a currently Max only ase converter to our fileformat it rather sucks.
