View Full Version : zeroing out bones
rotaryman 04-20-2003, 09:30 AM I was wondering if there is any possible way to zero out a bone in XSI? I know in maya you can set the rotation of a bone and reset its rotation to 0,0,0 so that pose will be the zero'd out pose, however all attempts I have had only moves the bone to it's default 0,0,0 pose. This is rather frustrating that XSI as far as I know doesn't do this.
Any help on this matter will truly be appreciated

Hi,
You can only zero out the first bone of the chain.
Here's a script that zeros out the first bone of the chain and transfers the rotaion values to the root for you so your chain stays where it's supposed to.
Chain Fixer

Hope that helps..

In XSI 3.0.1
Animate>Create>Skeleton>Align Root to First Bone
I think that is what you are looking for.
