Hi all,

First, we recently finished a new commercial for the german computer manufacturer "MEDION" featuring a desaturated greenscreen-guy and a paper dragon.

http://www.aixsponza.com/media/medion_XL.jpg

Watch it here: AixSponza (http://www.aixsponza.com/index.php?prefs=page__1___lang__en___enum__frame_motion___width__700___)

Second, we have two new plugin releases. Spline On Spline now is available as 64bit version and has a new feature: Optionally it displays the input spline in the viewport with user defineable color.
Then there is "BakeToPLA". A menu command that transforms deformer animations to a PLA track. Its the successor to the old Entagma Coffee Plugin "Freeze Deformations".

As always, download for free. No warranties are given: AixSponza Software (http://www.aixsponza.com/index.php?prefs=page__1___lang__en___enum__frame_software___width__700___&accesskey=3)
At the moment there are only windows (32bit, 64bit) versions of both plugins. Mac compiles will follow soon.

Thanx alot to Timm Dapper for the implementation.

cheers mnu

Beautiful work. I liked the swirls-dragon-fire to butterfly transition.

Looking forward to the Mac compile for your plugins.

Inspiring - as usual!

...and BIG thanks for the new incarnation of "Freeze Deformations" - without it I've felt quite helpless on a few occasions. "Coolness!" is exactly the way I'd describe this! ;)
All of it!

Cheers

Thank you all, glad you like it. We wanted to do more of the dragon, too. But you know, it's always the same. The client likes the story and the dragon, but what he likes most are his products. ;-) Maybe we do a DC with some more dragon scenes.

MNU, typically how long does a production like that take to create? Are you repsonsible for every element, including 2d and compositing, or just the 3d? Is the creative process completely AixSponza's or do you get direction from other production houses? You mentioned the green screen guy, is that something you would have to pursue yourself (meaning hire someone, etc.) or does that footage come to you from somewhere else?

Thanks.

Dan B.

Hi Danb,

a project like this is accomplished in about 6 weeks normally. This time we had four weeks only, as it had to be ready long enough before christmas.

AixSponza is a design, animation and post production house. So, yes, we did the 3D the 2D the comp, the storytelling, the camera work (in the animation parts) and the animation direction. Shooting, acting direction, actor casting and sound was done by e+p commercial, a german production company. Rotoscoping and keying was done by AixSponza, too.

The design is done by AixSponza in close cooperation with the client's agency TWBA. They developed the idea and concept of the campaign. We came in to design the elements like the dragon, the plants, the environment and the overall look.

Hi,

as SOS 1.2 isn't available vor Mac yet, you still can download Version 1.1, which is available for Mac.
We're using 10.5 too but had no crashes with baketopla yet. I'll look into it .

Hi all,

the .cdl of BakeToPLA for Win32 has a problem. We fix it as soon as possible. The .cdl64 is ok.

shouldn't need it in 10.5 anyways the point cache does the same thing but far more flexible.

you're right. But as it's ready, maybe people without Mocca want to use it.

ahh right keep forgetting they snuck it into mocca for some dumb reason, still feel it should be in core.

Also good for anyone on 9 or 10 though too, sorry if I came off as downplaying it, just pointing out for 10.5 theres a flexible solution in cinema.
