I'm redoing this character attempting to up the quality as I rushed her before.
Tried to give her face more personality and a bit more age and history.
I modeled her features using a certain actress as a reference. I'm curious If anyone can guess who. I'll be happy if they can. If they can't, I'll cop out and say that it was "loosely" based on her :)

It's looking pretty good so far. Just a few suggestions you might want to consider:
-the wrinkles in her forehead make her look a little old.
-and her lips look really dry.

No, not Jane Seymore. Her lips are dry. But maybe the wrinkles are too much. I was shooting for late 30's. I think when she is textured, the wrinkles will be more subtle, but we'll see.

The wrinkles on her forehead kind of remind me of the crease I get when I wear my fedora, it's a little bit too tight and leaves a ring around my head. The bags under her eyes kind of age her beyond her 30's. If you lighten the undereye wrinkles a little I think the rest works very well. Very impressive start. Not too many people would be brave enough to make an authentic-looking gunslinger woman... I think most might sell out to "sexy chaps" and "perfect skin"

Thanks. I'm gonna do the fine details (skin pores, leather roughness and scratches) in photoshop with the Normal Map filter.

Gaboon I like the body model nice shape and detail. The holster needs to hang futher down and I'd definitaly redo the hat, I know it wont fit over the hair style you've designed for her with that hat I mean the hare has to much wate and valume to fit under the hat.

Changed the head. I tried to make her more attractive and more threatening also. Started the texturing. Deciding on a color scheme is still a ways off. All comments and crits are very helpful. Thanks for the posts so far guys :)

She looks more threatening, but not less attractive. I like the first face more. The body work is looking good. Keep the updates coming.

some suggestions for adding attractiveness of the head:
round out the forehead from the side view
make the chin sharper from the front view
lessen the bulge of the masseter muscle from the front view
make the curve of the opening of the eye sharper

I totally agree with what vince22 said, and I must add that I think she look less attractive. And I don't mean to dis your work but at this point she look like an old, bitter, scared and burned out woman and this things are very unattractive. :P
1. Stress lines don't add threatening look to your character it only makes her look old.
2. the turned down mouth doesn't make her look threatening but rather bitter.
3. her eye sockets are way to large, you may think this makes her look more attractive but compared to her expression her widely stretched eyes makes her looks like she scared not dangerous.
4. again like vince22 said you may want to round the forehead a bit, this can only make her look more feminine.
5. higher cheek bones? I don't know that could just be my taste :P
6. I think you should try to make her look threatening with the diffuse (makeup) or coloring and make her attractive with the actual shape of the modeling.
Example attached, I hope you don't mind. In my copy she look fine, confident, but also very deadly, no fear, bitterness or hesitation in her expression.

Hey Gaboon, good progress so far. My biggest criticism of your work would be medium frequency details. I think you have the big forms and the very small forms ok, its the stuff inbetween connecting them.
The hair, for example could do with some of the forms demonstarted in these (http://www.pixologic.com/blogs/ryan/2007/11/22/artists-series-sculpting-hair-bob-cut/) tutorials (http://www.pixologic.com/blogs/ryan/2007/11/26/artist%e2%80%99s-series-sculpting-hair-short-brushed-forward/)
The face on a woman is always trickier, but try not to be too precious and add in some muscle and fat. e.g. the muscles around the eye brow area, the mouth etc. You have some of them there I just think you can push it further and make the face look more natural. This is kinda what I'm talking about (http://features-temp.cgsociety.org/gallerycrits/7630/7630_1193123666_large.jpg) (sorry the model is completly unrelated, but the forms are a good example, and have a nice quality to them).
The shirt creases are looking great and really help to give a sense of the material. The trouser texture is shaping up very nicely, adding a hem and seams will help sell it further and finish off the bottom where it meets the boot. You might also want to add in some extra polys right there too just to smooth out the curve, it would be worth the extra expense. The heel of the boot looks a little awkward and big, perhaps a bit of reshaping here would be good. The belt looks good and the asymmetery works well.

Wow guys. Awesome feedback. Lotta stuff I just did not see when I was working on it. I guess thats what feedback is all about.
vince22- Good suggestions. I think the tweeks you did make her look a little creepy, but I get what your saying.
Quareeb- Good crits as well. You rendition looks great. She looks a bit too innocent, but definately more attractive, thanks.
CG-Gordon- Awesome suggestions and tutorials. I'm gonna go through them with her and take your crits into consideration.
Hopefully I'll have changes to post soon. Any more comments are welcome. Thanks again guys :)

Changed her head. Took a lot of the suggestions that I got here and came up with a balance that I liked. I think it is much better. Comments?

looking good!! I do think that the area below her neck, the indents look abit to deep. Also the eyes look a little out of scale but all in all nice job I did the texture!!!

I have to agree with Kobi in that her eyes do seem a little too large for her face and the dimples below her neck seem far too deep. Aside from that it's a fantastic looking model and texture.

I agree with kobi and kromano would be the second time for me, anyway good work. Also I'd saturate down the skin and make it less pink, in the south west there's alot of sun and people tend to get a tan PS especially a gun slinger that finds herself outside most of the time escaping people wanting to kill her from town to town.
a few more updates and she should be right on the mark :D

Ok. Tweeked the neck base, skin and eyes. I'm about to put her up on my site. Thank you guys so much for the helpful comments. She has turned out much better than she would have otherwise. Anything further you guys have to say is appreciated.
I have been struggling with the rendering (one of my weakest areas). These are all hardware rendered shots from the viewport. I plan to use mental ray for my reel. Any tips or tutorial links on character rendering would be helpful if you guys got them. Thanks again :)
