I've done a small animation in After Effects and want to import it into premiere. What movie format should i render it in inside ae?

Uncompressed seems to be quite huge. Im wondering if there's a better format that doesnt degrade the quality too much, and has a managable filesize, and works well with premiere.

Also, when does one decide to choose to export has an image sequence instead of a movie.

Premiere can use .avi and .mov files to name a few.

You can try creating a .mov Quicktime Motion jpgB at best settings or a .avi file using the Video for Windows settings.

One would choose to render an image sequence instead of a movie when render times are very long and you can't afford to re-render from the beginning should something go wrong during the render.

The last thing you want to consider is compression, that is after it leaves your editor. So you should export out uncompressed or image sequences and then when your edit is done pick a good compression like h264 or such.
