CGTalk - making textures...

hey all

i really need practice on my textures, except how do i without playing in the editor without any purpose??? i mean, i see some of you out there make textures that are metal,chrome,rubber, skin, etc....

if you can make textures how did you get good? i really wanna get good at making these things. thanks!

no prob.
if you have anyquestions on his stuff email him, he is a really good guy.
there is alsoa computer arts book out that has a better tutrorial about textureing .
go to barnes and nobles if you have one near you plunk down and have a read.
