sierramike 04-19-2003, 09:20 PM trying to render out some large files but im only getting half rendered and the other half is a black screen with an error message about some line. is it a software issue or a hardware issue, it was rendered as a tiff. any ideas?

Try rendering from the commandline and increase your tilewidth and tile height using thsese flags -tw 64 -th 64 .. the maximum value is 256.
On windows any given process can only a use a max of about 2gb these flags will force maya to be more conservative and perhaps marginally slower.
