Im a beginner who has been slowly hacking away at 3ds max on my own for the past 2 months. And now that christmas is almost here Iwas wondering what dvd set I should ask for of 3ds max tuts. Any worth asking for? I am doing my senior project on animation also, and will need help creating a short film involving creating rigging and animating a mime.

If you're going for photo-realism, your best bet would be the Todd Grimes Character Series http://desktopimages.com/CharSeries.shtml

He uses Lightwave, but the same principles apply to 3d max as well.
