Mankind is represented as a watery substance such that this product of nature stands in contrast to the cold and artificial cables that are encroaching on him. At the same time however, these cables appear to have as much life as he. He is at once transfixed by and scared of the power manifested at the end of the grasped cable, so much so that he does not see the even greater threat of a rather sinister looking VGA cable closing in behind his head...
This was modeled in Maya 7 and ZBrush 2.0, and rendered in Mental Ray. Some post-render work was also done in Photoshop CS2.
