View Full Version : Metallic effects like the one in this vid....
killer397 12-06-2007, 03:20 PM Hi fellow After effects friends :)
I just saw this movie from a man called Pierre Michel on his showreel website:
http://pim.showreel.free.fr/bd_avp.html
I really LOVE the look at the end with the sort of metallic/platic look to it.

Does anyone have any clue of how to create such an effect ?
Ive tried to play with some gradients in after effects but i get nowhere near to the one used in the video.
Any help is greatly appreciated !
Greetings Martijn

It's a simple HDR reflection revealing thru a gate done in a 3D program most likely. Not sure what issues you're having, but it would be easy to achive the same using layer blendmodes and linear wipes.

Thanks for your reply.
I know he did it in after effects.
It just seems so realistic and i think i just miss the good eyes on how to adjust my work to make it look like that.
Ill try a little harder but any tips on how to make it look this realistic wouldd be greatly appreciated :D
