View Full Version : SPmove or something like it
Vossil 12-06-2007, 10:46 AM Hi, I have recently moved to Cinema from Lightwave, am really enjoying the switch but there are a few tools I really miss.
The one I am really having difficulty living without (apart from FPrime obviously) is Pictrix SPmove: http://www.pictrix.jp/lw/index3.html
Is there a cinema equivalent and if not why not :D
If any code god feels like helping me out with this one I would be most grateful.

Since the linked page is in Japanese, could you describe the functionality you are looking for?

Click on the SPmove writing then there should be a "english page" option up top.

OK, thanks for pointing that out. I still have trouble interpreting the description of its functionality; it seems like some sort of advanced snap settings tool. Have you explored C4D's snap settings? How are they deficient? (Not doubting that they are, just curious about your needs...)
If you could describe your desired workflow, we could probably more readily find workarounds or analogs, if they exist for C4D.

It is difficult to describe unless you have actually used it but basically it allows one to move and snap points to a background objects x/y/z coordinates on a per point basis (the bg points also essentially project on their x/y/z coords as well). I have explored Cinema's snap settings and generally they are very solid but they seem to lack this excellent feature.
