Can anyone please tell me how to avoid getting my texture altered after applying MeshSmooth?
The texture was just fine until I apply MeshSmooth! (whether I use any iterations or not)
Please see the included images for before and after states:

After

I'll appreciate any tips and suggestions :)

Thanks in advance,

Does Old Style Mapping fix this? I vaguely recall reading something along those lines. Could be wrong, though.

I failed to mention that I collapsed the mod stack prior to applying the MeshSmooth mod, removing this way the UVW Unwrap mod. Could this be the reason? :(

I went back to a previous file I saved (for cases like this one), and this time I didn't collapse the stack (keeping the UVW unwrap mod) but still didn't help! :(
As soon as I apply the MeshSmooth it gets screwed :(
What should I do?

thanks,

Howdy !

I'd say add an unwrap on top of your stack (on top of the meshsmooth also), and fix the problem there. Since you're smoothing out the geometry of the model, you might have to manually adjust some vertices in the unwrap that go crazy because of the meshsmooth: you have to (re)edit the vertices after the meshsmooth takes place.
