View Full Version : Character: Transformer WhiteOut
thirdmoth 04-18-2003, 08:09 PM I find this forum a source of inspiration and finally feel I've something good enough to post.
WhiteOut is a Transformer based on Boeing's Bird of Prey prototype for their unmanned arial combat vehicle. As a member of the small Autobot Air Force, WhiteOut's function is to covertly aquire enemy targets and then eliminate them completely.

In his spare time he has other hobbies:

These were done for my Advanced 3dMax class in Columbia's Architecture School. I am working on an animation.

looks good, I like the "other hobbies" pic.
I look foreward to seeing a transformation animation. I sure hope all of the parts fit. :p

Good pics! My favorite is the second picture. Little bit surreal.

isn't that instrument sort of big for the environment?

Thank-you all for your views and comments.
Stephen 2002: Rest assured that WhiteOut was designed so all the parts fit.:)
Warhead: Thanks!
William B. Hand: WhiteOut had that cello built as a special order. I think its made of redwood.

LOL, that cello render is too funny :) Hey very nice modeling by the way. Does it really transform into the plane? a little animation clip would be very cool!

yes, the project was designed so the robot all fits in the airplane. I should have an animation in a few weeks.
Thank-you viewers and commentators.

Very nice!
I also like the hobbies pic the best. That made me laugh.
Very nice sleek simple yet complex design.

Too funny!

How come no1 has mention the "peace" symbol he made with his left hand?

AlteredState: Thanks!
drifter51: Thats a sweet idea. WhiteOut is also a big fan of roller hockey and makes excellent pancakes at times.
heiyuu: I'm glad you got that. As an Autobot, WhiteOut goes to war only when it is required to preserve peace.
Thank-you everybody for your comments.

Make a tranformation vid, and you could make the front page! great work! You just need more detail. Tubes, hydrolics. ect.

The pictures are good. I like the shadows and refractions plus the water effect.

Until I find a server on which to put my movie, here are a few stills from the 60 second sequence I did for my 3D MAx Class.

Sorry, I have no idea. Ask around, perhaps someone is kind enough to host it.

oooh....niiiice.
The whole transformation squence was planned very well....works great^^
Also, I like how you were able to transform this, of all planes. I would've expected a much larger plane ;) .superb!
heh....I'm a cellist myself....It would be....interesting if he was part of some orchestra

Well, thank-you very much.
There should be an orchestra, or at least a quartet. Maybe some of the other robots on this forum play musical instruments.
Here's the cello, for you and all the rest of the cellists on the forum.
Its the first thing I made in 3DMax.

And here's what my cello is doing, waiting for me to get home from NY and play it again someday:
