View Full Version : Character in his set: mOOn
Hi, I've just made that little scene for the character I modeled (see the old wip here: http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28176&highlight=moon)..
I'm sure I can change some stuff to make it look better... Comments and crits are welcomed and wanted!!

Looks Good! I like the set up/camera angle
Très bon Toce, tu as beaucoup progressé depuis les derniers posts que j'ai vu !!! boboulo :)
I'm really digging this character, but from your WIPs I kinda thought you were going for a much larger creature, like Jaba-da-hut size or something. This tribal look is cool too.
As for crits, the flag hanging from the cross poll thing looks like it is defying the laws of gravity. You should give it some more drag on the rings, and some more angle to it. It just doesn't look natural to me. Maybe even have it drape around the pole a little bit, like there is a breeze blowing. The only other thing that I kinda wondered about is the purpose of this composition. Is he looking at the camera or at the well hatch? Why is he standing there, why is the well lid there? Know what I mean... If this is just a test render from an animated sequence, then cool, but if you are trying to show us an image without any meaning behind it, it just seems uninteresting. It might help if you had more of a focus in the image. The well hatch competes with the character for attention. Maybe if you intensified the light, as if it were mid day with clear skies, and kinda drown out his surroundings in light a little more, and focus in on the character... dunno.
My 2 cents. :)

I like it.I wish you can make a clearer picture for us. I think the armor type piece on the shoulder looks like it will fall off,I do not see an attachment. But if closer the detials can be seen, please closer view.Another angle as well.
Still it looks very good,I just want more.

Yeeeeeessssss.....I saw the WIP and I find very cool to finally see him in (still) action, cool image .As for comments, I also thought he would be bigger, and that the flag could use more motion, I also suggest U tweak the texturesto give more contrast and get a wider color scheme, it would enhance (is that correct?!) the character, and I would add a bit of crap in the columns textures (looks tooo clean considering the rest of the composition) to give a "temple ruins" kinda effect .Feel free to send me to hell if that sounds innapropriate .
En tout cas super image, on en veut pluuuuuuus!!!!!!

Congrats! perfect!
Thanks for the comments, here is my todo list:
_ work on the flag, apply cloth to it (my test worked well but took my maps away, so I have to sort out whhat the probleme is..)
_ re-think the scene (I m thinking of making the character interracting with the well.... in a way)
_ maybe scale up the character
_ break the colomns, make em look more like ruins..
update is coming....

It's getting better with the updates...........For the pose, since his a prophet, you could try a prophet pose, like one hand on the flag, and the other high above his head, like shouting to the sky for some kind of ancient magic .I think you don't like the pose cause right now he seems kind of static, try to put him in a more dynamic pose, make the camera lense a bit higher to have a more pronounced perspective .Anyway these are just suggestions, I'm waiting for more updates .
Keep up the good work:buttrock:

Awesome man, i LOVE the last picture.
My only complaint is that it seems like there's no physics around there.
His "summoning" this power, looks powerful, but the flag isn't acting as if it is. Looks like "wind" almost in a sense, so everything should be "flying" around. lol. sorry for all the quotes, but i wasn't sure how to explain it. Hope you catch my drift.

Sorry, I don't like the last pose but I do like your character. Good modeling skills. You might want to work on the flag a little more. Still looks pretty stiff.

Just how many hours do you put into your work? Your work is amazing and I know it takes hours to do what you do. Are you working full time and you do this on the side? I would appreciate some feedback. thanks. :applause:

the first ones reminded me very much of the game Baldur's Gate. I really like the latest updates, especially the posing did the picture very good.
