hey folks,

I've been working on my texturing and lighting skills and this is the first of several "exercises"

Max 5 is the program I'm using.

Thanks in advanced for good constructive criticism.

I am brand new to the 3d world but i have to say that is very impressive. I like your detail you put into the cards to make them look old and used and the DOF adds a lot to the picture ***** 5 stars

all i can see is a redrival hosting advertisement, even if i copy/paste the link.

EDIT: nevermind, it works all of a sudden. i like it. it looks quite realistic, and i especially like the aging you've done on the cards. the lighting is quite good, the dof may be a little strong though. overall i like it a lot.

thanks for the comments - per someone's suggestion I set it so you can click the link - I just signed up with redrival so I could post the full res image and don't know a lot about how it does adverts and what not.

THanks for the comments

If you stick the images in a folder they seem to work more often.

its not your webspace providers fault, you lave put an erronious ? on the end of your URL making it invalid.

Nice image, it looks very realistic.

yeah that looks great! A prime example of how less can be more :) the aging on the cards is really good, and the Depth of Field is used VERY well -- nice to see it used right for a change :D

Great job man, my only crit would be to have a green felt table for the playing surface, rather than just nothing. And a few red, yellow, and blue playing chips and you'd have a cool primary color scheme going on in your composition. again, sweet work:)

as soon as i opened the link, i thought to myself...why would someone post up a photograph of some stupid cards, and how it was really funny that they removed a finger holding the card using photoshop!, but now that i read that u actually made them, id have to say it looks very realistic, fooled me:annoyed: :p
