Thanks Darius!
I appreciate the reply, I think i will go with the cell shaded look, I did a little animation test and it looked pretty good, so i'll start on the body and add some more detail.
peace!

Will do!
Thanks for the reply guys, i'll post him up when i get the rest of him done, when he is finished i plan on his animation for his tongue to wobble when he walks and his eyes to cross a little more to give him a dumb look,
any suggestions how i could do the tongue in animation? Not really to comfortable in animation yet, have done to much, i know how to sort of skin and bone but only to an extent..
peace!

Looks great so far. Only thing is finish the body before you go into animation. It will save you a lot of headaches later. Not unless you just want to play around awhile. Your call.

I like the character, he looks pretty good, the one thinkg that bugs me though is his eyes, it think they are too white and they don't look like they have any shading in them at all. Also just my opinion but i think you should stick to the regular 3d shading, not liking the way the cel shader looks.

Personally I like the eyes, they give him a tired, lunatic look :) and the feel of the character is good too in a bagpuss'esque felt cloth kind of way, perfect for an offbeat comedy setting in a similar vein to Aardman's 'Rex the Runt'

As for critisism its hard to know what to say without knowing what you want to do with it, If your aim is 'Wallace & Gromit' its fine leave it alone, if your aim is Final Fantasy you still have a significant amount of work to do ;)

Good luck,

Hey!
Again thanks for all the replies guys, i think i might go for the real shading, but in the pic above its hard to tell how cool the cel shading really is because of the lighting in the scene kinda washed all the shadows out, i'll post him again when im finished, and hopefully then i can move to animation, i am shooting for an off beat comedy, i want him to look kinda "fried" and goofy, hopefully i can figure out how to put some saliva hanging from his tongue i think little stuff like that would help him out,
not really sure what to do for the body, im think real slender build but im drawing a blank as to what kind of outfit he should be wearing, maybe a basketball type jersey and some shortpants lol we'll see, but thanks for your kind words everybody!
PEACE
