View Full Version : SteadyCam and Cinema 10.5
rsquires 12-03-2007, 05:48 AM I am using SteadyCam and am having a lot of crashes with version 10.5. Can anyone confirm this and if so can Lennart chip in with his views. I can't think it is much else as I have a plane with a jpeg textured on it. I am using Steadycam to generate a camera move for after effects. I'll keep you posted as to whether 10.1 has the same issues.

hey there
no huge amounts of crashes here - 8 core mac + tiger. and i use steadycam for everything - usually if i need too or not, just so i can easily animate my camera later.
my major probem is only the incredibly poor timeline/playback responses already documented here - but this is not a steadycam issue.
one interesting thing is i just this morning put 10.5 on a mac notebook and, apart from rendering, the editor playback seems to behave better. what type of mac do you have ?

Hallo.
I have no experience of, and there are no reports that, SteadyCAMPRO should cause any problems.
Please contact me so I can take look at the scene and send any crash reports to Maxon.
@robotbob, if your notebook is an Intel, yes , Intels have a much better performance than
PPC's. I do sometimes do the animation editing on my laptop and then render only on my G5 Quads, for that reason.
Cheers

re : performance
my 8 core intel mac is my c4d machine and i have awfull playback performance on it - i cant stop the playback on the timeline etc. i currently dont use a PPC
the intel macbook seems to be ok - but i will test it properly later.
but yes this may be a solution to my animation editing.
