CGTalk - Bike with girl

I guess it's a pretty accurate description of the concept. Anyways it's something I started today. I decided to refine the lines with Illustrator. I'm planning on using photoshop for the coloring in portion. Thanks for the input.

Hey Ratempa
I think you need to check the perspective on the bike, the front wheel is definately not on the same plane as the back wheel. Anatomy is not my best subject but I think you should re-position her right arm a little aswell so that its not quite so obscured by her head.

Any background?

I was trying to make the front end look like it's turning left. I think it's the headlight. I've gone back to the drawing board for the girl. I've changed a couple of ideas with her. Here's a wip for her character.

You've got such nice linework, I think you should try painting the images with the original linework. You're losing something with the outlines that you did so far.

Your drawings are great, you're good with perspective and anatomy. I think the pose in the first picture is a bit awkward, don't know what she's supposed to be doing.

As far as the coloring, you say you're a Masamune Shirow fan right? I say you should look at some of his artwork and try to match that style. The plain gradients aren't working for you.

On the second image, I disagree about the anatomy. Even stylized, this gal's got some severe problems...

Her upper arms are so thin, she makes anorexics look healthy.
Her elbow is wonky, the bend on top is about 3" higher than the elbow itself...
The middle of her torso is totally alien. Either she has two belly buttons, or she's part snake, and does not really possess a ribcage as we know it.
The lower torso is likewise wonky, with the strange lumps and the weirdly shaped hips.
The knees look odd with the strange curvature of the upper thighs.

There is no indication of your admiration for Masume Shirow in either of these, in color, style, or drawing characteristics. But I would suggest tightening up your anatomy more than anything else.
