After Effects Pricing - Worst then ever

Hey D. I am very dissapointed on how pricy the softwares all around has gotten, specially after effects i guess u just pay for the name but i am looking forward in taking a step further and finding another soution for motion graphics.

You obviously haven't been using software that long. Software prices have gone down, not up. AE used to be US$2000 and US3-4,000 in other countries not 5 years ago.

Anyways this is still cheap. If your doing this professsionally then software is a big tax write off.

Good luck finding one. Unless VFX-oriented apps like Nuke or Fusion are suddenly shifting over or Motion comes up to snuff, that won't happen anytime soon. Sorry guys, you can keep bitching and moaning about AE and Adobe's pricing policy, but it won't achieve anything. I think we all can agree that this thread wouldn't even exist if you weren't dependent on using AE, at least on occasion. Yes, it sucks, but that's life. As Deke said - never has been any different and not unseen elsewhere. Apple is selling their stuff much more expensive here in Europe and I've made it clear many times how much I like that... Move on, nothing to see here.

You guys are right i just have being working too much with after effects and i cant find the way to work faster i cant work with quater preview,and than do a test render after test render.Well i guess is just me.

wow! 999USD??? I'd buy it immediately if that was the price in the UK. We have to pay 1000quid for it. I just can't afford that price. I've been saving up for a while and each time I get near to it the price goes up.
