View Full Version : Plugins ----> where to find 'em.
yellowworm 04-17-2003, 08:18 PM hey!
we've got Maya 4.5 @ my station, using it in
conjunction w/ LW 7.5 and Wings...are there
any modeling plugins available to give Maya
these LW/Wings features:
Magnet/Dragnet
Smooth/Tighten (smoothing out of geometry, not SUBdividing)
Edge Tools
is there a plugin haven for Maya?
i've searched on Google, but...didn't really find too much.
thanks!

There are a ton of plugins for Maya 4 on highend3d and a few for 4.5 .. I don't think you'll find a larger resource than what we have there.

Mj poly tools and Bonus Game Package for edges
...do a search for "Tweak" from Wings3d on in the Maya forum....there is a link to the plugin for something like a magnet tool.
alternatives are xySoftpeak for 4.o or Claydough...or there is one in the Bonus Game package....Geo Transmogrifier...some programmer must of came up with that name and there is also the default Proportional Modification tool(another shite name)
Also....learn to use Artisan for the smooth tighten or even magnet possibilities....or just use the "average Vertices" Also check out clusters if you want to animate the soft selections.

wow, cool. thanks for all the info!
for having so much hype i was really
surprised to see how minimal the
polygonal modeling tools are for Maya....
but maybe that's just because i'm used
to lightwave.
